Dr. Jensen began his healthcare career following a decade of experience working as a mechanical design engineer. Pursuing his growing desire to work as a healthcare provider, Dr. Jensen went back to school at the New York Chiropractic College and graduated with honors (cum laude) in 1995. His engineering background gives him a unique insight into the biomechanics of the spine and skeletal system.
As a complement to his chiropractic qualifications, Dr. Jensen has studied, and become fully certified in, Active Release Technique (ART). ART is very effective for correcting problems related to scar tissue and adhesions within muscles and tendons in all areas of the body. Common conditions successfully treated with ART include chronic sports injuries like tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, and runner’s knee as well as repetitive motion injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome and rotator cuff syndrome. Dr. Jensen is now one of the most highly credentialed ART providers in the region and has been awarded the designation of “Elite Provider” of Active Release Technique. By combining ART with chiropractic, Dr. Jensen is able to provide rapid recovery times for a broad variety of conditions.
In an effort to find a non-surgical solution to the most difficult disc injuries, Dr. Jensen investigated currently available disc treatment technologies. He discovered that a computerized variable traction technique called “non-surgical spinal decompression” was the best method currently available. Dr. Jensen is now nationally certified in non-surgical spinal decompression through Parker University and by The International Medical Advisory Board for Spinal Decompression (I.M.A.B.S.D.). Dr. Jensen’s expertise in non-surgical spinal decompression has qualified him to be the regional provider for the Disc Centers of America. Disc Centers of America is a nationwide network of spine care specialists offering the most up to date and clinically effective spinal decompression therapy.
Dr. Jensen is certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and holds licenses to practice in New York, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He is also a fully certified instructor for the National Red Cross Back Safety Program.
